Sustainable Urban Drainage Design Systems minimize
the effect of development drainage on the local environment
by mimicking natural hydrological processes
SUDS are used to disperse rainfall into the ground as close
as possible to the point of precipitation by the use of infiltration
systems such as permeable paving, swales, open basins or soakaways.
Where ground conditions do not allow infiltration, then attenuation
systems may be used to store rainfall and allow release at rates
equivalent to the undeveloped greenfield run off rate.
Consideration of SUDS is becoming an important element in
the planning process for any development of significant size
in problem catchment areas.

At H2OK/Highgate our engineers are fully experienced in SUDS
investigation and design and will undertake work throughout
the UK. We are able to undertake the following services.
- Ground percolation testing
- Hydrological Assessments
- Design of soakaway systems
- Greenfield runoff calculations
- Design of attenuation systems
- Drainage optimisation with hydraulic modelling
- Receipt of approvals from the Environment Agency and
discharge of planning conditions laid down by local authorities
on drainage
- Advice on rainwater recycling methods.

What Our Customers Say...
"H2OK/Highgate have provided drainage and SUDS designs
for a number of private development schemes undertaken by
Molwin Homes. They have always provided us with well engineered
and innovative solutions, sometimes on steeply sloping sites
with limited land.''
